EDUCATION TO BUILD A BETTER FUTURE FOR ALL

According to Wikipedia, education is the process of facilitating learning or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits. We usually get this at school. Usually we get a lot of subjects to learn such as Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Religion, and many more in order to get some education, some knowledge. People think that from education, we can build the world better. Being an engineer, doctor, or any kind of job that we can achieve by education.
Actually, studying at school is not enough. There are still many kind of education that we don’t get at school. Some kind of them can we get from our family, friends, or our environment. Like how we wake up in the morning, we get up on time or not, wearing a complete and neat uniform. That is discipline. Discipline is not like math our physics that we can get the point from the first time we learn it. It takes time, and takes a lot of effort to do at first. Discipline is one from many kind of problems that still running in our society. It seems to be so hard to be discipline, but in fact, it’s not that hard. At first we have to push ourself to do it. For example when we always wake up late, try to set 1 or 2 alarm so we don’t late anymore. Or try to prepare everything at night before we go to school. These little things can effect our live better.

Honesty, it also one from many kind. In my country, we know ‘gotong royong’ or respect to others. It sounds good to be nice, respect and always help each other. But we must help people in a right way. Don’t help our friends on the test, it’s called cheating. Unconsciously, we are helping our friend to be a liar or a corruptor in the future. We also are prohibited to cheat.

The two of those things above is a major problem in our education. The suitable education for us is not about how perfect your score is. It is important, but there are more important things. Discipline and honesty, it is what we use much in the future. Plus, we have to increase our social skill. It doesn’t matter to be genius, but don’t forget to socialize. We have to improve ourself, don’t sleep on your bed a whole day at the weekend, get up and improve yourself by doing something you are interested to like take a music class, go to gym, our just sitting in the couch reading books. Get out and meet a lot of people from a various culture and personality. That makes us know how to act to many people. The more we explore, the more we get.

We also have to change our mindset of one job. Don’t set it in our mind that being a doctor is guaranteed to be success and rich. It’s cliché. Look around, being an entrepreneur, singer, engineer, it can makes us success, if that is what we are good at.

The point is education can’t we get at school only. We also can get from our surrounding. Education it’s not only biology or physics, but the way you help each other, or be nice to each other, there’s always something we can get from it and we can called it education. It’s not just our brain that have to be improved, we also have to improve our soft skills to be success and we can build a better world. So don’t be sad if you are not good enough at school, go around and find what you are good at.

Television, YES or NO?

source: www.eventplanner.tv

Television is a device that exist everywhere. It is a device to watch something whatever it is news, comedy, drama, and so on. We can find some advertisement too in every end of the segment of the show. Nowadays, television give us a lot of information. From television, we are now facing globalisation. We can know everything abroad in a second. We can do bussiness too by advertising our product on TV, it can make a huge profit.
Sometimes, people are too much enjoy with the television. There are some people who stay a whole day in front of the television and that is bad I think. They become unsocial and don’t know everything happens outside. They can’t just get out and say hello to their neighbours, or even walk along the neighbourhood to refresh their body. Sometimes we are stay all night for watching TV. I think that’s bad for their health. In some case, television makes us distructed when we are doing our homework because honestly the TV show is more attracting than homeworks J and sometimes the TV shows content doesn’t suitable for children or teenagers underage.
But somehow, as I said before, TV makes us have a lot of information. We can know what’s new outside. news come fast with television. We usually have some Breaking News on TV. TV give us some entertainment too. We can watch comedies, reality shows, our favorite TV serials, and sometimes some TV channels shows a box office movie. If you watch local channel, it has been sensored from adult contents. We can have more conversation with our friends or families talking about the TV shows we both like. TV can amuse us when we have free time. If we don’t watch TV, sometimes we will miss some information.
So I think there are goods and bads by doing a TV free day. It’s depend on us in how we use TV as a communication, bussiness, and entertainment device. I think the right thing to do is use your TV wisely. Just watch TV if you have free time. If you have homeworks or your friends ask you to play, don’t play TV then. Or maybe you want to ask your friends to watch your favorite TV show together, that’s OK. People say you will have no time with your family when you are watching TV, ask them to watch with you. You can have a conversation from there like arguing some news or laugh as loud as you can by watching a comedy show. Don’t forget to watch the shows that suitable for your age. As long as you use it wisely and not forget with your responsibility, TV is OK.

BAKTI DESA 2015

Last month, my school have a program caled Bakti Desa. We were divided into groups, each group will taken care by a family. We eat, sleep, take a bath in their house and helping them doing their jobs.
We were located in Desa Sukapura. My groups were stayed at Mr. Wawan's house. They were so friendly. Once we stepped in their house, they were served us lunch. The menu was simple, but really, delicious.
On the first day, Mrs. Wawan told us to look around the village. We went around the village and met another group from our class. So we went together. At night, Mr. Wawan and his family talked to us. Asking about us, and told us about the condition in the village. And we found out that Mr. Wawan is a teacher for junior high school.
Because it was final exam that time, so we have no job to do. Mr. Wawan just asked us to checked the final examination test. It didn't take a lot of time, so Mrs. Wawan told us to do whatever we want to. So the second day, we followed another group doing 'meramas' at the farm. Meramas is cleaning a farm, pull out the unnecessary plant that obstructing the nutrition of the main plant. After we 'meramas', we played with our classmates, we walked around the vilages. At the afternoon, we stayed at home because one of us was sick.
The third day, there are CAMPRT at the field far from the village. It was raining and we were not fullteam. It was, sorry, kind of boring. I didn't even know what should I do. Plus, I was sick that day so I got back to the house earlier, followed by another girls in my class because they didn't get anything to do there. We were gathered in our room, it was sooooooo cold outside, but very warm inside because of them. I was half-asleep and they were watching Uttaran:) In the afternoon, I felt better. We were planned for 'malam keakraban'. We told our classmates to gathered in my house at 8 p.m. We were almost fullteam. At first we didn't know what to do. Mr. Wawan placed us at his empty house. No TV or some entertainment. We almost 'mati kutu' there. but then we were talked about a lot of things, Told our own secrets, everything. We talked unti about 2.30 a.m. Everybody was so tired and sleepy. And cold. So I went to the main house and took some blankets. And we were sleeping there until about 4 a.m. We should get up because it was the last day, we have to packed our things, and got home.
The last day, after packing, Mrs.Wawan made us some breakfast. The last breakfast in the village, hiks. Before leave, we didn't forget to say goodbye to Mr. & Mrs. Wawan, said thank you for all they have gave to us and say sorry if we had anything wrong. And we gave them souvenir. Not much, but hopefuly useful and remembering them to us.
It was one of the best 4 days in my life. A lot of lesson I got from there. It was so unforgettable.

Dilan, Dialah Dilanku Tahun 1990.

Source: auliarahmahtnaz.blogspot.com

I want to review a book. It's Dilan by Pidi Baiq. It was the first book I have finished since I was graduated from junior high school. I often borrow some books, but somehow none of the books ever completed.
This book tells about a love story in high school, about a naughty-but-clever boy named Dilan, from Milea's viewpoint. In this book, Milea tells us about how freak Dilan was, when the first time he met Milea, he tells a fortune that they'll meet in the canteen at the break. That day she didn't know who was him, so she called him 'Si Peramal'. And how funny it was when Dilan suddenly came to her house and gave her an invitation. What invitation?

“Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Dengan nama Allah Yang Maha Pengasih dan Penyayang. Dengan ini, dengan penuh perasaan, mengundang Milea Adnan untuk sekolah pada: Hari Senin, Selasa, Rabu, Kamis, Jumat, dan Sabtu.”

Freak, totally freak, but clever. And how cute was was when he once said to her, "Milea, kamu cantik. Tapi aku belum mencintaimu. Enggak tau kalau nanti sore. Tunggu aja."

Ever, once, Dilan came to her house, met her father. He brought some foods and pretended as an "Utusan Kantin Sekolah". Who else got a silly idea like that?

Day after day, Dilan always gave her some silly things or thoughts.
Time after time, Milea started to wondering about Dilan.
She found out that he was a humble boy.
And he was obedient to his parents.
Plus, he always got the first rank in class.
But then she found out that Dilan was a member of a motorcycle gang and he often went to the counseling room because of making troubles.
Ofcourse Dilan wasn't her type. But she still wondering about him. Is she fall in love?

Let's read and found out!

Harvard University

Harvard University is a private Ivy League research university in Cambridge,Massachusetts, established in 1636. Its history, influence and wealth have made it one of the most prestigious universities in the world.
About the admission process, applicants from outside the United States go through the same admissions process as American students, it doesn't categorize individual applicants in such a way.  It has no quotas of any kind for admission, all applications are evaluated by the same holistic criteria, and financial aid is equally available to all students regardless of citizenship.
"International admissions" are generally referring to applicants who apply from schools outside the United States. In general, if we are applying from a school abroad, we will follow the same procedures and timetables as candidates applying from schools located in the United States.

Once you are admitted to Harvard, the university will work closely with our family to ensure we can afford to come here. Harvard seeks the best students regardless of their ability to pay, it is committed to meeting 100 percent of demonstrated financial need for all four years. International students receive exactly the same financial aid as Americans. In fact, approximately 70 percent of our students receive some form of aid, and about 60 percent receive need–based scholarships and pay an average of $12,000 per year. Twenty percent of parents pay nothing. No loans required.
It has two key principles:

  • Admission to Harvard is need-blind, meaning your financial need will not impede your chances of admission.
  • Aid is based entirely on need, not merit.
Harvard's financial aid officers work closely with our family to determine our demonstrated need and our family’s expected contribution. For many families, this is between zero and 10 percent of family income. We will also be asked to contribute to the cost of your education through term-time and summer employment.

My dream job

People ask me where will I go after high school. Well I always say I want to go to college. Being a great accountant.
But I dont want to be just an accountant. I also want to have a kind of sidejob. I want to be a designer. I want to make my own label with many branches here and there. Attending a lot of fashion shows, meet a lot of famous designer. Designing for a lot of fashion icon. I dont know where are these ideas come from because I never ever thinking about to be a designer. It comes naturally it was when I walked at the mall, saw many clothes, mix&match then tried them on even though I didnt buy it😂 thats the time when I forgot of all my problems and homeworks😂 and i like it when people ask me what to wear or how do they look or this is match or not, i feel happy when they love my choice. then it continues time after time and I think maybe this is what makes me happy, I think that will be great.

Peace

I See Humans, But No Humanity - massimofabrizio.tumblr.com

According to Wikipedia, Peace is a period of harmony between different social groups that is characterized by lack of violence or conflict behaviors, and the freedom from fear of violence. It means that peace is where everyone love and care of each other, respecting their differences.
I thought we all want peace. But sometimes the ego come and ruin it all. We feel like we were better than anyone else, prettier, smarter, richer, or more deserve an honor. This was why racist or discrimination came. Like we all saw the black and white racism, where the black became a slave with the white as the boss. They (the white) tortured the black with no heart. Or how hard is it, as a moslem, with a veil, to get a job in some country. Worst, people sometimes equalize moslem with terrorist which is very pathetic and mean.

"I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality...I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word.
 - Rev. Dr. Martin LutherKing, Jr.

The quote above told us that we can't live in racism to others. And how hard is it to reach a peace because of racism and war. This quote encourages us to love and respect each other. Everyone have its own speciality that you can't change. We just have to respect and everything will be fine. Difference makes better.
